Innovation is the heart of MIRL management philosophy
Almost every enterprise sets "innovation" as part of its management core. Without innovation, a business can never last long. Innovation can enhance the competency and added value onto every link in the product value chain from R&D, design, production, sales and after services. MIRL has huge innovation potential in technology R&D and performance improvement. It has generated about 1,800 patents, the highest among the domestic non-profit research institutes in quantity. It also won group gold medals in National Invention Awards. However, in terms of license fee incomes from technology transferring, MIRL still needs some improvement in quality and better strategies in technology transferring. As a consequence, MIRL requires every project complete patent map analysis to have better control on the key to technology innovation. It also practices the three-in-one concept in technology transferring for generating the highest value from its patents by utilizing its IP to cooperate with manufacturers and further derive new businesses.
Through the four operation strategies of enhancing advanced and kernel technology R&D, increasing the private sector to participate in the government-funded Science and Technology Development Program, promoting international cooperation and increasing cooperation with the academics, MIRL stresses innovation in technology R&D and promotion service strategies. For the maximum value of its IP and best project performances, it aims to help the industry to create new businesses. Every project leader of MIRL has to follows the three-in-one operation model that integrates technology R&D, knowledge services and IP commercialization, and evaluates the relationship between innovation and his/her project input/out from time to time. Thus innovation becomes part of our operation model, and is firmly built into our organization culture.
